A Historic Venue Rich in Artistic Splendor

, ,

The event will take place at the the Chiostro di San Pietro in Vincoli, an exquisite Renaissance cloister that whispers stories of centuries past.

Just a 3-minute stroll from the Colosseum, this enchanting space adjoins the revered Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli (Saint Peter in Chains), one of Rome's most venerable places of worship, originally constructed in the 5th century to preserve the chains believed to have bound the Apostle Peter himself.

The cloister you'll experience today took its graceful Renaissance character during sweeping renovations commissioned by Cardinal Giuliano della Rovere—the visionary who would ascend to become Pope Julius II. Every stone and archway reflects the artistic ambition of that transformative era.

Within the premmise you'll find yourself mere steps away from Michelangelo's Moses, one of the world's most celebrated sculptures. This masterpiece stands as the centerpiece of Julius II's monumental tomb, creating an atmosphere where profound intellectual exchange unfolds within arm's reach of Renaissance genius.

Getting to Rome

Rome is a well-connected European capital offering multiple transportation options. The city features two airports: Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino (the main international airport, 30 km southwest of the center, accessible by Leonardo Express train, regional trains, buses, or taxis) and Ciampino (a smaller airport serving budget airlines, reachable by bus, metro, or taxi). For rail travel, Roma Termini is the primary station, providing high-speed trains (Frecciarossa, Frecciargento, and Italo) and night trains connecting to other European countries through Switzerland, France, Austria, and Germany. The official Turismo Roma website offers comprehensive information about events, restaurants, transport, and other tourist details to help visitors plan their stay.

Transportation Options

Rome's public transport system, operated by ATAC, requires valid tickets for all journeys. Passengers can purchase single-use tickets (BIT, valid for 100 minutes) from tobacco shops, newsstands, or vending machines at metro stations for €1.50 each, or use the Tap&Go contactless payment system with credit, debit, or prepaid cards, which automatically applies the most economical fare based on usage (switching to a €8.50 daily pass after four journeys). Multi-day passes offer better value for frequent travelers: 24-hour passes cost €7.00, 48-hour passes cost €12.50, and 7-day passes (CIS) cost €24.00 and provide unlimited travel on all ATAC buses, trams, and metro lines within the city.
